Microsoft Unveils Surface Devices Powered by Snapdragon X2 Plus Chip
Microsoft has unveiled two new Surface devices at the Snapdragon Summit: the Surface Pro 12” (2nd edition) and the Surface Laptop 13” (2nd edition). The tablets are powered by the Snapdragon X2 Plus chip, which offers improved performance and efficiency compared to its predecessor.
The Surface Pro 12”, a 12-inch Windows on ARM tablet, features a 2,196 x 1,464px PixelSense LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. It supports both touch input and the optional Surface Slim Pen, which can detect 4,096 levels of pressure. The device also comes with Microsoft Ink Canvas, an AI-powered app that converts sketches into text.
The Surface Pro 12” is available in three colors: Platinum, Black, and Violet. Pricing starts at $1,150 for the base model, with higher-end configurations ranging from $1,250 to $1,450. The device weighs 686g and measures 7.8mm thick.
The Surface Laptop 13”, on the other hand, features a slightly larger 13-inch display with a PixelSense LCD and 60Hz refresh rate. It also comes with a next-gen haptic feedback trackpad and is available in three colors: Violet, Platinum, and Black. Pricing starts at $1,200 for the base model, with higher-end configurations ranging from $1,300 to $1,500.
