Microsoft Unveils Translucent Green Xbox Series X to Mark 25th Anniversary

Microsoft is launching a special edition Xbox Series X to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The console, known as the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, features a translucent green shell that reveals the interior components. This design pays homage to the transparent plastic aesthetic of gaming consoles from the late 90s and early 2000s.

The special edition console will cost $899, which is $100 more than the standard 1TB disc-drive model. However, it includes a free download of the Halo: Campaign Evolved remake and a translucent green controller. The Xbox 25th anniversary collection will officially launch on November 13, but preorders are now open to those who received an email invite.

For those interested in purchasing the console, Microsoft plans to make it available for preorder tomorrow, August 27, at 7 a.m. PST. Preorders can be made through the Xbox site or participating retailers while supplies last. In addition, the transparent green controller will be available separately for $79.99 ahead of its October 20 launch.
