Microsoft Unveils Updated Surface Devices with Snapdragon X2 Plus Chip
Microsoft has unveiled its latest Surface devices at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. The updated Surface Laptop 13-inch and Surface Pro 12-inch will be available on October 13, starting at $1,149.99 and $1,199.99 respectively.
The new devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus chip, which offers improved battery life, graphics performance, and AI capabilities. The Surface Laptop 13-inch can deliver up to 22.5 hours of video playback, while the Surface Pro 12-inch can last up to 15.5 hours.
The Surface Pro 12-inch also comes with a new AI-powered drawing and annotating tool called Microsoft Ink Canvas. This feature allows users to handwrite prompts for Windows 11's Copilot assistant directly on the device's touchscreen using the Surface Slim Pen.
The updated devices have 25 percent brighter screens, new black color options, and retain the same design as their predecessors from spring 2025. They will be joined by a redesigned Surface Mouse with built-in haptic feedback and a customizable action button, starting at $79.99.
