Microsoft Unveils Work IQ Preview for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform Data
Microsoft has launched a public preview of Work IQ, a new business application that brings together data from Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. The platform uses a shared model to provide agents with a common understanding of business data, built from existing Dynamics configuration.
The accuracy of agent answers depends on how well an organization maintains its application configuration. To refine the semantic model, administrators can switch signals on or off, exclude outdated views or relationships, and add vocabulary that the system cannot infer.
Work IQ has three working parts: a semantic model, business skills, and governed actions. The semantic model combines data scope and indexing with knowledge drawn from existing applications and company terminology. Business skills package procedures with context and resources for agents to follow them. Governed actions let Copilot propose changes, route them through required approvals, and update source records.
Microsoft's example is a sales renewal, where an opportunity looks healthy in Dynamics 365 Sales but Copilot links it to an unresolved case in Dynamics 365 Customer Service. It also finds customer emails that make fixing the issue a condition of renewal.
