Microsoft Updates Compact Surface PCs with Snapdragon X2 Plus Chip

Microsoft has refreshed its compact Surface PCs with the latest Snapdragon X2 Plus chip. The Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch are now available for preorder, with prices starting at $1,149.99 and $1,199.99 respectively.

The new Surface Pro features a 12-inch, 2196 x 1464 LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and is said to be 25% brighter than the previous model, reaching 500 nits. The device also has two USB-C ports, but they are limited to USB 3.2 speeds.

The Surface Laptop 13-inch keeps its conventional keyboard-first design and has a 13-inch, 1920 x 1280 touchscreen display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It is said to be 25% brighter than the previous model as well, reaching 500 nits.
