Microsoft Updates Intune and Configuration Manager for Windows 11 26H2 Support
Microsoft has expanded support for Windows 11 version 26H2 by updating both Intune and Configuration Manager, ensuring smoother deployments for enterprise customers. The Intune Settings Catalog now includes day-zero support for the new OS version, allowing IT administrators to configure updated policies through the Intune admin center. Microsoft is also preparing an updated security baseline for Windows 11 26H2, featuring revised security recommendations and protocol settings.
For organizations using Configuration Manager, versions 2603 and 2609 now support Windows 11 26H2 deployments. These updates include platform improvements, enhanced security controls, and support for newer SQL Server versions, aligning with Microsoft’s evolving cloud and security requirements.
Microsoft advises IT teams to review new settings, test policies on representative devices, and verify OS compatibility before large-scale rollouts. Organizations using Configuration Manager may need to upgrade their environments to meet new prerequisites and address the retirement of older platforms like Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 and SQL Server 2016.
The company aims to minimize deployment challenges by providing immediate policy support in Intune and broader compatibility in Configuration Manager. However, IT teams must still validate configurations, update infrastructure, and plan migrations to avoid issues with unsupported components.
