Microsoft's AI Vision for Windows Unveiled in October

Microsoft is preparing to unveil significant changes to its Windows operating system at an upcoming event in San Francisco on October 7. The company has been working to improve Windows' performance, address user feedback, and modernize the interface, but bigger changes are expected soon.

The event will feature Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and Microsoft's executive president of Windows and devices, Pavan Davuluri. They will likely highlight improvements made this year to address common pain points and promise future tweaks to improve performance, especially on 8GB devices.

Artificial intelligence (AI) will be a major talking point at the event. With Nvidia's CEO in attendance, Microsoft is expected to speak more about its Nvidia RTX Spark-powered Surface Laptop Ultra. The company has been developing AI models, but they have yet to become a core part of the OS.

Microsoft may also begin articulating how AI will help ordinary Windows users, who are now far behind competitors on AI features. Googlebook OS includes deep Gemini integrations, and macOS Golden Gate has an excellent AI-powered Siri assistant.
