Microsoft's Desperate Attempt to Push AI: 'AI at Work Roadmap' Falls Flat
Microsoft has rebranded its roadmap as 'AI at Work Roadmap', touting AI features across various apps and services. However, upon closer inspection, many of the listed updates have little to do with artificial intelligence.
The change has raised eyebrows among some industry observers, who question whether Microsoft's leaders are prioritizing branding over accuracy. According to Windows Central, the new name is meant to highlight AI features in Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Dataverse.
However, an examination of the roadmap reveals that many updates listed under 'AI at Work' do not involve AI in any way. Examples include coordinated meetings support on Teams Rooms on Android and breakout room support on Teams Rooms on Android.
