AstraZeneca and Amgen announced positive Phase III results for Tezspire in treating eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE), a chronic inflammatory disorder affecting over 470,000 people in the US. The CROSSING trial met both co-primary endpoints and all key secondary endpoints at Week 24, with improvements sustained through Week 52.

Tezspire is a first-in-class human monoclonal antibody that inhibits thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), a key epithelial cytokine. The treatment has already been approved for severe asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps in multiple countries.

Arjan Bredenoord, primary investigator of the trial, stated that Tezspire 'could provide a new approach to treating EoE'.
