Microsoft was once on the cusp of releasing its own smartphone, codenamed 'Raven,' but it never made it to market.

Newly surfaced images show a prototype from around 2013 or 2014 with a clean metal frame and unmistakable Microsoft styling, closely resembling the Surface hardware of that era.

The phone's design features dedicated navigation buttons beneath its 720p display and an unknown Qualcomm processor running Windows Phone, which was still in early development at the time.
