Lord Alan Sugar, a £1.138 billion net worth business magnate and star of reality TV show The Apprentice, has called American Express 'a bunch of idiots' after being denied a credit limit increase.

Sugar spent an hour on the phone with American Express, speaking to four different people before finally reaching someone in Brighton who was aware of his financial status. Despite this, his request for a higher credit limit was refused due to the company's system.

Sugar took to social media platform X to express his frustration, saying 'I AM NOT MOANING JUST EXPOSING WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS AMEX ARE.' He also defended his need for a credit card, stating that he doesn't walk around with bags of cash and needs it to buy things.

Sugar's comments sparked a mixed reaction from his followers, with some questioning why he expected special treatment as a billionaire.
