Microsoft's New Jersey Data Center Hit with Record $1.07 Million Fine

Microsoft's DataOne Center in Vineland, New Jersey has been hit with a record fine of $1.07 million by the state's environmental protection agency for violating air pollution laws.

The facility was inspected on July 29 and found to be operating 62 large natural gas generators without required permits under the state’s Air Pollution Control Act.

This move follows a similar action taken against another data center in Virginia, which received a fine of $2.5 million last year.
