Microsoft's Next Xbox Pricing Concerns

Microsoft's next-generation Xbox, codenamed Project Helix, aims to play both Xbox and PC games. However, this wider ambition may make it more expensive for gamers.

Ampere Analysis estimates that if the next Xbox and Sony's PlayStation 6 launch around $1,000, their combined sales during the first five years could be as much as 38% below the current generation.

This is a concern for Microsoft, as console hardware only represents part of its revenue stream. The company also makes money from game sales, Game Pass subscriptions, and in-game spending within the Xbox ecosystem.
