Microsoft's Redesigned Copilot App Keeps Working When Users Are Away
Microsoft recently announced the redesign of its Copilot app, which includes three main components: Home, Code, and Autopilot. The redesigned Copilot app is designed to continue working on delegated tasks even when users are away.
Home brings together conversational Chat and delegated Cowork work into one place. It's currently in a staged rollout for Frontier customers, while access to the existing components of Chat and Cowork does not automatically mean the new Home view has been reached.
Code is aimed at building tools rather than documents. A user can describe an app or automation in ordinary language, and Copilot will build a purpose-built solution. Code currently has limited access for a small group of Frontier customers and will expand to more users in stages through Frontier.
Autopilot is designed to continue working on tasks without needing another prompt from the user. It can follow conversations, perform recurring work, and return to an assignment later. Autopilot's next stage is an expanded private preview, with no general release date yet announced.
