He decided to take matters into his own hands and explore third-party open-source apps that can fill the gaps. Three such tools stood out: Listary, System Informer, and Flow Launcher.

Listary is a search tool that offers a quicker way to find files without replacing File Explorer. It works as a quick launcher triggered by double-tapping Ctrl, providing an instant search bar where users can type to find files, launch apps, or run system commands.

System Informer is a free, open-source tool that provides more in-depth information about running processes compared to the Task Manager. It shows parent processes, folders launched from, command lines, and digital signatures, making it easier to identify issues.

Flow Launcher offers quick app access without touching the mouse. Users can trigger it with Alt + Space and get results for apps, files, bookmarks, web searches, or math calculations.
