More than 1 million attic stairway ladders have been recalled by Louisville Ladder Inc. due to reports of broken bolts and falls. The affected ladders were sold under various brand names, including Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, and Century.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that the aluminum or wood frame ladders with gas struts could break, causing injuries or even death. There have been 11 reports of bolt breaks, including one incident where someone was injured in the neck, head, and back.

The recalled ladders were sold nationwide between November 2012 and July 2026 at various retailers, including Home Depot, Lowe's, Do It Best, Orgill, Amazon, and others. They were priced between $170 and $600.

If you have one of the affected ladders, stop using it immediately and visit www.atticstairwayrecall.expertinquiry.com to obtain a free repair kit. You will need the ladder's model number, which can be found inside the attic door.
