Minnesota AG Questions Fairness of Google Data Center Deal with Xcel
The Minnesota Attorney General's Office has expressed concerns over Google's Pine Island data center deal with Xcel Energy. In a press release, the office stated that Xcel has not shown that the agreement is fair or meets state law requirements.
The issue revolves around the cost of electricity for the data center, which will reportedly be sold to Google at a lower rate than what other customers are charged. The Attorney General's Office claims that this pricing arrangement may not be in the public interest.
