Moderna Stock Soars to Fresh High as CEO Sees Beyond Covid
Moderna's stock has surged over the past two months, more than tripling in value from $63 to a fresh 52-week high of $195.71 on Thursday.
The company's CEO, Stéphane Bancel, attributed the rally to optimism about Moderna's potential outside of COVID-19 vaccines and positive late-stage trial results for its cancer vaccine, intismeran.
On August 18, the stock ended at $140.34, but has since added approximately 39% in value this month alone, according to data from Stocktwits.
Bancel emphasized that Moderna is not solely a COVID-19 vaccine company, citing five approved vaccines and a 50/50 partnership with Merck for its oncology franchise.
