A McDonald's customer in Westerly, Rhode Island was left shocked after discovering mold on their chicken sandwich. The customer shared a photo of the sandwich on Reddit, where it quickly went viral.
The customer captioned the post, 'Nice surprise on my McDonald’s chicken sandwich! Never going to the Westerly RI mcdonalds again. How they let this out the door is beyond me.'
Other Reddit users and McDonald's customers were horrified by the photo, with some joking that someone had used the sandwich as an ashtray.
The original poster later returned to the thread with an update, confirming that the substance had been identified as mold. 'It's mold. They confirmed and refunded. Pretty gross,' the customer wrote.
