Monster Beverage Outperforms Coca-Cola Over Past Decade, But Recent Growth Surge Raises Questions
An investment of $10,000 in Monster Beverage stock over the past decade has yielded significantly higher returns than a similar investment in Coca-Cola. According to data, total returns for Monster Beverage reached 258.9%, while Coca-Cola's total returns were at 179.3%. This means that an initial $10,000 invested in Monster Beverage would now be worth approximately $35,890, compared to $27,930 in Coca-Cola.
The stronger performance of Monster Beverage can be attributed to the company's substantial revenue growth over the past decade. Between 2016 and 2025, its full-year revenue increased nearly threefold, from $3.05 billion to around $9.2 billion. In contrast, Coca-Cola's revenue grew by just 14.5% during this period.
However, in recent years, Coca-Cola has experienced a resurgence in sales growth, driving 27% gains in 2026, compared to Monster Beverage's 14.8%. This shift may indicate that Coca-Cola is poised to outperform Monster Beverage in the next decade.
