Monster Beverage Stock Faces Slowing Revenue Growth Ahead
Monster Beverage has seen significant gains in recent years, with its stock rising by about 35% over the last 12 months. The company's revenue growth and increasing international popularity have contributed to this success.
However, Monster faces headwinds that may impact its growth trajectory. Analysts expect inflationary pressures to weigh on sales growth, which could erode Monster's pricing power and limit revenue growth.
The company has benefited from strong pricing power and a relatively asset-light business model, leveraging Coca-Cola's distribution infrastructure. Consumer demand for energy drinks has been strong, particularly outside of the U.S., allowing Monster to generate cash for share repurchases. However, with $900 million remaining available for this purpose, investors may be cautious about buying at an above-average valuation.
Despite its leading position in the energy drink market, Monster's revenue growth is expected to slow to 17% yearly by the end of the year and further decline to 10% annual revenue growth in 2027. This could lead to a pullback for the stock, which has retreated approximately 15% from its July high.
While investors should not necessarily avoid Monster Beverage stock, they should not expect a market-beating performance from it in the near term.
