Monster Sprints Past Coca-Cola in Decade-Long Returns Showdown
The past decade has seen significant differences in returns between two major beverage companies, Coca-Cola and Monster Beverage. Over this period, Coca-Cola's total returns reached 179.3%, while Monster Beverage's surpassed it with a return of 258.9%. If one had invested $10,000 in Coca-Cola, it would now be worth $27,930, whereas the same investment in Monster Beverage would have grown to $35,890.
Monster Beverage's revenue growth has been impressive, surging from $3.05 billion in 2016 to $9.2 billion by 2025 at an annualized rate of approximately 13%. In contrast, Coca-Cola's revenue only grew from $41.7 billion to $47.9 billion over the same period, with a mere 1.5% annualized growth.
From 2016 to 2025, Monster Beverage's earnings per share more than tripled from $0.30 to $1.08, while Coca-Cola's EPS doubled from $1.49 to $3.04, indicating stronger performance by Monster Beverage.
