Monstropolis Land at Disney World Unveils New Attractions and Dining for 2027
Walt Disney World has unveiled new details about the upcoming Monstropolis land, inspired by the Monsters, Inc. franchise, set to open in 2027 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The first phase will introduce guests to the monster city with themed architecture, dining, and entertainment, while the second phase will feature a suspended roller coaster through the door vault inside the Monsters, Inc. factory.
The land will include two new restaurants: Harryhausen’s, a table-service sushi eatery with an Audio-Animatronics octopus, and Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, a quick-service spot serving specialty drinks like Blort, a purple frozen soda with green apple foam. The menu items will have a “grossly fun” theme, with dishes like eyeball-shaped fish cakes and unique fish sticks or chicken slices.
Disney also shared a sneak peek of the signature attraction, Welcome to Monstropolis, an indoor, media-based show hosted by Mike and Sulley. The show will take place in the former venue of Muppet*Vision 3D, now renamed the Glob Theater, and will feature Audio-Animatronics characters from Monsters University. Construction is ongoing, with progress visible on the roller coaster and monster-inspired architecture.
Monstropolis is one of two major new lands opening at Disney World in 2027, alongside Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which will feature new Encanto and Indiana Jones rides.
