Moonshot AI, the company behind the popular AI assistant Kimi, has launched what it calls "the world’s first AI native credit card" in partnership with the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) and American Express. The card offers a unique twist on traditional financial products by converting spending into AI computing benefits, though with some limitations.
The card comes in two tiers: a premium platinum version and a standard option. The platinum card provides two months of Kimi’s Pro membership, previously known as Allegretto, after cardholders spend at least 5,888 yuan (US$830) in a month. The Pro membership, priced at 199 yuan (US$30) per month, is the second most expensive tier in Kimi’s subscription lineup.
While the concept of integrating AI services with everyday finance is innovative, the experience comes with constraints. The benefits are tied to specific spending thresholds, which may limit accessibility for some users. Nonetheless, the card represents a novel approach to blending AI technology with consumer finance.
