Moonshot Seeks 30% Revenue Share in Proposed Deals with Microsoft, Amazon, and Google

China's Moonshot AI is in talks with Microsoft, Amazon, and Google over revenue-sharing agreements for its Kimi K3 artificial intelligence model. The Beijing-based startup wants to take a 30% share of revenue generated from K3-related services offered through the cloud platforms.

The potential deals could bring Chinese AI technology to the American enterprise market via major U.S. cloud providers, creating a significant new distribution channel. Moonshot has already reached similar agreements with smaller cloud platforms, including Chinasoft International in July.

Kimi K3 contains 2.8 trillion parameters and has produced competitive results in independent evaluations, comparable to OpenAI's GPT-5.5 and Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.8. The model is an open-weight system that requires significant computing resources, making cloud distribution essential for businesses.

However, the negotiations are at an early stage and may not result in agreements due to unresolved issues such as revenue split, access to data, and token usage mechanisms. Moonshot has rejected claims of improperly using Anthropic's Fable model and illegally obtaining Nvidia chips.
