Morgan Stanley Touts Top Stock Picks for 2027
Morgan Stanley has updated its highly anticipated 'Vintage Values' stock selections for the coming year. The strategy, which prioritizes large-cap quality and bottom-up fundamentals over short-term market momentum, generated a 32.12% return in 2026, outperforming the S&P 500 by 1,316 basis points.
The firm's equity strategists invited North American analysts to submit their single highest-conviction recommendation for a one-year holding period. From an initial pool of over 50 companies, they narrowed the list to 15 equities that rank in the top two quality brackets.
The new portfolio includes prominent market leaders such as Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL), Apple (AAPL), and Coca-Cola (KO). It also features tech firm Dynatrace (DT), pharmaceutical leader Eli Lilly (LLY), real estate investment trust Equinix, and energy infrastructure provider Williams Companies (WMB).
Morgan Stanley's equity strategist Michelle Weaver noted that the selections rely on individual company catalysts rather than recent stock market performance. The strategy has an 'anti-momentum' tilt, meaning the stocks on the list are not simply those that have worked recently but rather ones identified for their strong bottom-up drivers.
