MTSU Unveils $5.6M Cybersecurity Training Facility with IBM
MTSU and IBM are partnering on a $5.6 million cybersecurity training facility at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The MTSU Cyber Range will provide students, businesses, and government agencies with a real-world virtual environment to practice responding to cyberattacks.
The 2,446-square-foot facility is being developed through a partnership between MTSU and IBM, using AWS and Cloud Range technologies. It will include a theater for simulations, an observation room, faculty and staff offices, and breakout rooms.
MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee said the Cyber Range addresses 'a workforce need' and demonstrates the university's partnerships with corporate entities like IBM and industry partners Middle Tennessee Electric, Delta Dental, and National Healthcare Corp.
