Musk's Optimus Robot Hopes vs. Robotics Industry Growth
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made another bold prediction about his company's future. He believes that Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot could help the company reach a market cap of $25 trillion, which would be a growth of 2,500%.
However, experts from JPMorgan Chase think this may not happen anytime soon. They predict that the robotics industry will grow to $2.5 trillion by 2035, but Tesla's share of this market would need to be significant for it to reach such a high valuation.
To put this in perspective, Tesla currently trades at a price-to-sales ratio of 13 times, and assuming a similar valuation, its robotics division could be worth around $3 trillion by 2035. This is still a long way off from Musk's prediction of $25 trillion.
