Nagaland's Academic Hubs Buzz With Activity
Over the past week, education institutions across Nagaland have been hosting various academic and literary programmes. At Nagaland University, the 33rd freshers' meet was held on September 18, with Deputy Commissioner Kohima B Henok Buchem as the guest speaker. The programme welcomed the new batch of students and marked the beginning of their university journey.
Buchem spoke about seizing opportunities and making the most of university years through learning, participation, and personal growth. He encouraged students to participate in debates, literary activities, and competitions that develop communication and critical-thinking skills. He also cautioned against substance abuse, gambling, excessive social media use, misinformation, and other distractions.
Other institutions such as Dimapur Government College, Fazl Ali College, Patkai Christian College, and MGM College also organized various programmes including seminars, skill training sessions, farewell events, and slam poetry competitions. The IBM Skillsbuild programme was conducted at Dimapur Government College, providing courses ranging from machine AI learning to leadership and resume writing.
The programmes were attended by students, faculty members, and guests who appreciated the efforts of the institutions in providing a platform for knowledge sharing and skill development.
