NASA Bets Big on Boeing, Seeks New Entrants for Spaceflight

NASA is investing in Boeing's long-delayed Starliner spacecraft to ensure it can ferry astronauts to Low Earth Orbit into the 2030s.

The agency is also wooing other vendors to create successors to SpaceX's Dragon capsule, which has dominated human spaceflight this decade.

SpaceX plans to phase out its Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon capsule as it shifts resources to the Starship rocket and extraterrestrial data centers.

Boeing struggled with Starliner's thruster malfunctions and helium leaks, causing delays in its development.
