NASA has unveiled plans to host a major US aerospace event aimed at rivaling established global air shows. The space agency hopes the new event will serve as the platform for Boeing Co. to debut its next commercial airplane. The initiative, named CapeWeek, is set to launch in 2028 at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center. It is being developed through a collaboration between NASA, the state of Florida, and Space Florida.

The new air show is positioned to challenge long-standing events held outside of London and Paris, which have traditionally been key venues for industry dealmaking and aircraft showcases. By bringing a large-scale aerospace event to the US, NASA aims to strengthen domestic influence in the global aerospace sector.

The public-private partnership behind CapeWeek underscores the growing importance of collaboration between government agencies and private entities in advancing aerospace innovation. The event is expected to attract significant attention from industry leaders and enthusiasts alike.
