NASA has unveiled a new plan to get Boeing's troubled Starliner spacecraft back on track for regular flights.

The space agency will first conduct an uncrewed mission in December, with the goal of resuming crewed operations by mid-2028.

Before that can happen, some thrusters require a design modification, and Starliner will also need to be certified to use Vulcan Centaur rockets instead of the retiring Atlas rockets.

NASA is expecting to pay an additional $359 million for these upgrades and certifications.
