Nasdaq Hits Record Close Amid Positive US-China Talks
The Nasdaq reached a record close on Monday after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said talks with China were going well. This move breaks a downward trendline that started when the index peaked in June of this year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose, but the Nasdaq's performance was more notable. Semiconductor stocks did well, including Micron Technology (MU) which cleared a buy point, and Amazon (AMZN) and Nvidia (NVDA), both winners on Monday.
A tech fund also cleared a buy point as investors took advantage of positive news from Bessent's comments.
