Nasdaq Plunges as US Stocks Fall Amid Mixed Earnings Reports

US stocks traded lower on Tuesday, led by the Nasdaq Composite's 1.25% drop to 26,310.99.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.08% to 53,416.87, while the S&P 500 dipped 0.55% to 7,702.64.

Healthcare shares bucked the trend, rising by 1.8%, but information technology stocks declined by 1.9%.

Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD) reported better-than-expected earnings for its second quarter, beating analyst estimates with quarterly earnings of $4.92 per share and sales of $47.861 billion.
