Nature-Inspired Colors Set to Dominate Interiors in 2027
Experts in color and paint are predicting that certain hues will dominate interiors in 2027. These predictions reflect a desire for people to have a more personal connection with the colors they surround themselves with, as well as a shift towards nostalgia and nature-inspired tones.
The audacious reds, yellows, and greens of years past are being replaced by more nuanced tones inspired by natural pigments, flora, and minerals. Warm pastels and periwinkle shades are emerging as standouts in the experts' projections, offering unexpected vibrancy and playfulness to palettes.
According to Emily Kantz, color marketing manager at Sherwin-Williams, people are craving a more personal connection with the colors they surround themselves with. 'For so long, we've leaned into wanting our spaces to be calming and soothing,' she says. 'However, what if we wanted our spaces to be loud and high energy?'
The experts' predictions also include mature yellows, complex blues, mossy greens, wine reds, and periwinkle shades. These colors are expected to add depth and interest to interiors while creating a relaxing environment.
