Navy Awards Boeing $20B Contract for Sixth-Generation Stealth Fighter

The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing a $20 billion contract to develop the sixth-generation F/A-XX Strike Fighter under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program.

The aircraft's full-scale development phase includes the procurement of multiple test aircraft for ground, airworthiness, systems, and weapons integration testing.

Boeing beat out Northrop Grumman for the contract, which is valued at over $20 billion. The F/A-XX will replace the current Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornets as well as the E/A-18G Growler in the 2030s.
