Nelly Korda Tops Golfers in Major Championship Prize Money This Year

Nelly Korda topped all golfers in major championship prize money this year, earning $4,590,836 from the LPGA Tour's five majors. Ryu Hae-ran ranked second among LPGA players and seventh overall with $3,716,438 in earnings.

Korda won two majors: the Chevron Championship ($1.35 million) and US Women's Open ($2.5 million). She also earned significant sums at the other three majors, finishing eighth at the Amundi Evian Championship ($275,235), fourth at the AIG Women's Open ($465,601), and tied for sixth at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship ($275,235).

Ryu Hae-ran won back-to-back majors at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship ($1.95 million) and Amundi Evian Championship ($1.4 million). She also earned smaller sums at the other three majors: tied for 12th at the Chevron Championship ($119,311), tied for sixth at the AIG Women's Open ($247,127), and missed the US Women's Open due to injury.

The rapid growth of women's major championship purses has narrowed the gap with men. The combined prize money for the five women's majors now stands at $53.6 million, accounting for 64.4 percent of the $83.25 million offered by the four men's majors.
