Netflix Adds Disney+ Content in New Licensing Deal
Disney has announced a new deal with Netflix to license some of its content to the streaming giant. This includes popular titles such as Ice Age, Percy Jackson, and several other Disney+ shows and movies. The non-exclusive deal aims to boost interest in contemporary Disney series like Percy Jackson, which will be available on Netflix starting October 4.
The first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will appear on Netflix ahead of its Disney+ Season 3 premiere on November 20. All five Ice Age movies from 20th Century Studios will also land on Netflix at the same time as Percy Jackson. Additionally, several other TV shows and movies from Disney, Pixar, and Walt Disney Animation will be available on Netflix in the coming months.
The deal is expected to benefit both parties, with Netflix gaining more content and Disney getting its titles seen by a wider audience. However, it's worth noting that Disney's biggest franchise titles, including Marvel and Star Wars, will remain exclusive to Disney+.
