Netflix Lands Major Disney Deal: Exclusive Content Arrives This Fall
A major content licensing agreement has been reached between Disney Entertainment and Netflix, allowing for a mix of library titles and current-season TV shows to stream on the platform for varying periods of time. The deal marks a significant shift in the entertainment industry, where exclusive streaming deals have become increasingly common.
Under the terms of the agreement, several popular Disney shows will be available on Netflix, including seasons one and two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which will premiere on October 4th as part of a three-month promotional window. Additionally, all five Ice Age films from 20th Century Studios will also be available on Netflix starting on the same date.
The agreement also includes several other titles, such as seasons one through four of Will Trent and the sitcom Shifting Gears, which will premiere on ABC in early 2027. Iconic Walt Disney Animation and Pixar movies, including Soul and Raya and the Last Dragon, will also be available on Netflix starting in early 2027.
