Nevada Election Officials Accuse Trump Admin of Flooded with Subpoenas

Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar accused the Trump administration of flooding election offices with demands ahead of November's elections. He claimed that the federal government is inundating them with investigations and questions, making sweeping claims of election fraud before any investigation is done.

Aguilar stated, 'The right to vote is written clearly in the constitution, and we cannot take that right away without the highest confidence of a person’s ineligibility.'

The Nevada Independent reported on Thursday that the state's secretary of state office received seven subpoenas from the FBI over the last three months. The DOJ requests come after they lost their civil case seeking Nevada's unredacted voter-registration list.

U.S. District Judge Anne Traum dismissed the case, ruling that Nevada did not have to provide its statewide voter-registration list under the Civil Rights Act of 1960. The DOJ appealed the ruling to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
