New Found Glory Cancels Festival Appearance to Honor Late Bandmate Chad Gilbert
New Found Glory has canceled their upcoming performance at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento to honor the memory of their late bandmate Chad Gilbert, who passed away six months after being diagnosed with brain cancer. The guitarist and founding member was a dedicated Disney fan, and the band will instead play their first live shows at EPCOT in Walt Disney World Resort.
In a statement shared on social media, New Found Glory thanked fans for their support following Gilbert's death. They wrote that taking the stage at Epcot feels like the right way to honor him, as it was something he had been excited about and actively planning to participate in.
The band also shared the set list for the upcoming shows, which includes fan favorites 'My Friends Over You' and 'Dressed to Kill.' They intend to dedicate every note they play and every word sung at Epcot to Gilbert's memory.
