New York Jets Preseason Stock Plummets for Three Players
New York Jets players whose preseason stock plummeted include Malachi Moore, Isaiah Williams, and Arian Smith.
Malachi Moore, a sophomore safety, struggled in the team's Week 2 preseason matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He allowed both throws in his direction to be completed for 24 yards in 24 total snaps and 16 coverage reps. His summer has been unimpressive, while teammates Andre Cisco and Dane Belton have consistently flashed.
Isaiah Williams, a wide receiver, was surpassed by first-round rookie Omar Cooper Jr. on the depth chart after Friday's game. He hauled in three of his four targets for 24 yards but also fumbled and had a borderline drop. While he provides value as a returner, expectations for him as a WR should be tempered.
Arian Smith, another wide receiver, has struggled throughout the preseason. He was in the game deep into the fourth quarter with the team's third and fourth teamers but didn't receive any targets. His chances to make the final roster seem to be dwindling unless he delivers a monster showing in the team's preseason finale.
