Nigerian entrepreneur Babatunde Yusuf's journey to Canada was marked by setbacks, including his deportation from Japan. After completing his university education, Yusuf traveled to Japan on a visitor visa secured by an agent.

However, he was stopped at the airport and questioned about the purpose of his visit. Despite contributing money towards the trip with his family, Yusuf was ordered to return to Nigeria, leaving him feeling devastated.

The experience had a profound impact on Yusuf's mental health, causing him to develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and leading to sleeplessness. However, he eventually decided to rebuild his life by pursuing professional certifications in computer science.

Yusuf obtained a Cisco networking certification and secured employment with Etisalat Nigeria, where he gained experience traveling to countries including China, the United States, and the UAE. He later relocated to Canada as a student in 2015.
