Nikes Sales Forecast Sparks Share Price Plunge
Nike's stock price plummeted by around 9% in after-hours trading due to forecasted sales declines. The company expects its FY 2027 sales to fall in the high single-digit percentage range.
The shortfall is attributed to underperformance in key business areas, including Sportswear and Jordan Brand. CEO Elliot Hill acknowledged that deliberate actions are necessary to revitalize these segments.
In contrast, Netflix's stock closed at $67.85, down from $70. The company's Co-CEO Ted Sarandos noted that 5% of its annual content investment yields only 1% of viewership, which helps reduce subscriber churn.
