NIO Inc.'s CEO William Li outlined his company's strategy for the Firefly EV brand, likening it to Apple's iPhone approach.

For NIO, this means maintaining a single-model strategy for Firefly in 2027 while introducing special editions and technology upgrades. This approach is similar to how Apple introduces new iPhone models with upgraded features but keeps the same overall design.

Li also discussed NIO's battery swapping stations, which can accommodate all three brands. He mentioned that the cost of each fifth-generation station was approximately RMB 1.4 million (around $208,000). The company is exploring partnerships in the sector and plans to offer an 'admission fee' for using these stations.

NIO reported revenue of RMB 32.14 billion ($4.74 billion) for Q2 2026, a 69.1% year-over-year growth. However, the company missed analysts' revenue estimates of $4.78 billion.
