An Air China Boeing 747-8 was severely damaged at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on August 31, 2026.

The incident occurred while preparing for a scheduled service to Beijing that was later cancelled due to the damage.

B-2486, one of Air China's Boeing 747-8s and the final passenger variant of the 747 family, had its wing refuelling connections damaged during a refuelling incident in which the fuel truck moved away before disconnecting the hoses.

The damage not only affected the hoses but also the connections on the aircraft itself. Air China has yet to comment publicly on what happened.
