NJ Man Accused of Selling Stolen Construction Vehicle on Facebook Marketplace
A construction vehicle stolen from a Home Depot in Delaware was recovered in New Jersey after police tracked it via GPS.
The Kubota U17 mini excavator was rented from a Home Depot and never returned, prompting Newark, Delaware police to report its theft on July 15. Fairfield police in New Jersey received the alert and began tracking the vehicle's location.
A resident on Plog Road in Fairfield told officers that he had purchased the excavator through Facebook Marketplace and provided details about the seller, Raymond Iddeen of Millville. Police assembled a photo array with the help of electronic communications, transaction information, and video footage, which led to Iddeen's identification as the suspect.
Iddeen was charged with receiving stolen property and fencing on Tuesday. The case serves as a reminder for individuals buying and selling items online to be cautious and verify the authenticity of their transactions.
