Nokia and Microsoft Unite on AI-Powered Telecom Network Automation

Nokia and Microsoft are expanding their partnership to develop an AI-powered telecom network automation solution. The companies are combining Nokia's Data Suite with Microsoft Fabric to create a unified data platform that accelerates artificial intelligence adoption and network automation among telecommunications operators.

The integrated platform is designed to provide telecommunications operators with real-time access to network data, reducing the time required for data preparation and integration from weeks to minutes. This will enable operators to use information from different network systems more efficiently and make better decisions.

According to Silvia Candiani, Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Telco & Media at Microsoft, reliable data and governance are crucial for deploying AI across telecommunications networks. 'Telecom providers are ready to move AI from experimentation into everyday network operations, but that requires trusted data, strong governance and platforms that can scale,' she said.

The solution supports automated network management, including autonomous service assurance, geographic analysis of radio access network performance, predictive maintenance, and fault management. It also enables closed-loop network operations, where monitoring and analysis can trigger automated responses.
