Nokia Gains Momentum with Microsoft Partnership and STOXX 50 Return

Nokia's push to integrate artificial intelligence across its telecom infrastructure is gaining momentum with a new partnership with Microsoft and its return to Europe's benchmark equity gauge, Euro STOXX 50. The tech giant has unveiled a joint project with Microsoft to build a unified data foundation for network operators, combining Nokia's expertise in communications equipment with Microsoft's software layer.

The goal of the collaboration is to provide carriers with expanded data capacity and a common platform for automating mobile networks more broadly, addressing their need to run increasingly complex infrastructure efficiently. This move follows Nokia's update on its AI-RAN platform, which has moved beyond evaluation into lab and live field trials with eight global carriers participating.

Nokia is leveraging NVIDIA's Aerial RAN Computer to power the AI-RAN platform, achieving spectrum efficiency gains of over 20%. The company has also scored a string of operational wins across infrastructure and security. Its Nokia Defense unit partnered with UK specialist C3IA Solutions to accelerate digital transformation in Britain's defense sector.

Nokia has been selected by Telxius to deploy its pluggable optical 800G modules on terrestrial transport networks in Europe, the US, and Latin America, while Spanish internet exchange ESpanix adopted Nokia's Deepfield Defender security system. Planters Broadband Cooperative also chose Nokia to build an AI-capable fiber network serving communities in southeastern Georgia.
