Notre Dame Upgrades Network with Cisco Partnership
The University of Notre Dame has partnered with Cisco to modernize its campus-wide network. The goal is to deliver advanced connectivity, resiliency, and operational efficiency in line with the demands of higher education in the AI era.
The university, established in 1842, comprises eight colleges and schools, with over 13,000 students. It aims to invest in a network that can support current and future device loads and AI applications.
Cisco's technology will be used to automate and assure the end-to-end network through its Catalyst Centre platform. This includes nearly 1,000 new switches across the South Bend campus, allowing for consistent configuration and standardization on the switch platform.
The partnership also includes the use of Cisco Professional Services, which will provide ongoing support for the network and offer custom expert guidance. Additionally, Cisco ThousandEyes will be deployed to deliver digital experiences by providing visibility into every network that can impact performance.
